Diagnosis of a disease comprises factors like hetu (cause) poorvaroopa (premonitory symptom) Roopa (actual onset of disease), samprapti (events in pathogenesis, sadyasadyata) prognosis of disease. Rogavijnana department also deals with the importance of dosha, dushya, shatkriyakala, nadivijnana, dashavidha pareeksha, astavidha pareeksha & so on.

Students also perform bedside physical examination, history taking by regular observation of the patients & study the usage of diagnosis tools like lab investigate, MRI, X-ray, CT, USG, ECG.
